Libya: Embassy of Italy in Tripoli suspends activity

The Embassy of Italy in Tripoli today suspended activities in light of deteriorating security conditions. All staff were temporarily repatriated by sea. Essential services are to be ensured in any case. Over recent weeks, and up until a few hours ago, the Farnesina and the Embassy in Tripoli has been advising Italian nationals in Libya, particularly those there for work, to leave the country temporarily in view of the growing instability on the ground and offering them logistical assistance.
