The Foreign Ministry has sent a mission of inspectors to the Italian Consulate in Erbil to verify the regularity of visa issuing procedures.
The inspection revealed several irregularities which were punctually included in the Inspection Report submitted to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to initiate the subsequent legal steps under its competence.
On its part, the Foreign Ministry will obviously take the required administrative measures.
The person in charge of the Visa Department has been dismissed from office.
