Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooepration Paolo Gentiloni met today with Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab.
Italy’s full support for Egypt’s counter-terrorism effort was expressing, while another theme of the meeting was regional stabilisation, with particular regard to the formation of a national unity government in Libya. Mahlab’s visit, which took place shortly after the bombing attempt on the Italian Consulate General in Cairo on 11 July, was also an opportunity to discuss security measures at our institutional offices in Egypt.
