The statute governing the Italian Development Cooperation Agency was published today in the Official Journal. Publication marks a key stage in Italy’s Development Cooperation reform, which was launched in August 2014 with the approval of Law 125/2014.
The publication of the statute “confirms the strong sense of commitment with which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is implementing the reform and keeping to the established timescale for the completion of the complex transition to a new Italian Development Cooperation system”.
The period of time envisaged by law 125/2014 for the completion of all the necessary procedures will run from the date of publication of the statute. First and foremost will be the recruitment of the Agency’s director, a position that will be advertised shortly.
The Agency is expected to be fully up and running with effect from 1 January 2016.
