Mission of Undesecretary of State Benedetto Della Vedova in Minsk

Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Benedetto Della Vedova will be in Minsk from today until 24 February, leading a delegation of entrepreneurialassociations and businessmen. Mr Della Vedova will co-chair the first Italian-Belarusian business forum. The delegation consists of representatives of the Farnesina, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and Confindustria, Italy’s employers’ association.
During his stay, Undersecretary Della Vedova is scheduled to meet Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Vasilij Matyushevksyi,  Foreign Affairs Minister Vladimir Makey and Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Alena Kupchyna, who will be Belarusian co-chair.
Talks will focus on how to further increase the two countries’ bilateral economic relations, favouring an easier access to market and identifying existing opportunities, also following the very recent decision made by the EU to raise most sanctions against Belarus on human rights and the rule of laws and adoptions. Mr Della Vedova, who visited the Belarusian capital back in March 2015, will also meet representatives of the opposition and local NGOs operating in the country.
