Undersecretary Amendola visits Carabinieri task force and Italian Special Forces while in Baghdad

On the second day of his visit to Baghdad, Undersecretary Amendola visited the Carabinieri task force and the Italian Special Forces involved in the assistance and training of Iraqi security forces tasked with fighting Daesh and stabilising the country. Thanking the troops for their highly qualified contribution to training Iraqi police and soldiers, Amendola underlined Italy’s role at the forefront of promoting international peace and stability. Thanks to your work – Amendola told the Special Forces and Carabinieri – Italy is providing Iraqi forces with general and specialised capabilities that are essential not only in fighting against Daesh, but above all in building a national security system capable of defending the country, its new democracy, and its people’s desire for peace and reconciliation.
