Minister Alfano attends the meeting of ANCE’s Committee of Overseas Works and SMEs

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, in preview of his address as the guest of honour at the meeting of Committee of Overseas Works and SMEs of ANCE (Associazione Nazionale Costruttori Edili – National Association of Building Contractors) scheduled for 20 April, said: “The Foreign Ministry and the diplomatic network are actively engaged alongside the construction supply chain companies, providing institutional guidance and market intelligence abroad. A recent independent survey conducted by Prometeia reveals that in 2015 economic diplomacy generated value added for 16.4 billion euros – amounting to 1.1% of the national GDP – 6.7 billion euros in tax revenue and 234,000 jobs. A large portion of these figures are generated by construction companies. I personally put economic diplomacy at the top of the priorities of my mandate at the Foreign Ministry: on 19 April I attended the Roadshow for Internationalisation [of Italian companies] in Pescara and while the Foreign Ministry met with companies I went to Turin and Udine and, in the upcoming weeks, I will visit other Italian cities to draw locally based companies closer to Institutions and inform them on the value added that can be provided by the Foreign Ministry.”
