Italy very firmly condemns the ballistic missile test conducted overnight by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The test constitutes yet another clear violation of several resolutions of the United Nations Security Council. North Korea’s missile and nuclear programme represents a serious threat to international peace and security and to the global non-proliferation regime.
The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is called on to immediately abandon pursuing the aforesaid programme, suspending the path undertaken to challenge the international community and towards self-isolation.
Italy will continue to contribute to the international community’s firm and cohesive response.
