“Italy has decided to send an immediate sign of solidarity to the people of Nepal and of Sierra Leone to at least partially contribute to alleviating their terrible distress and grief caused by the recent mudslides,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano.
Minister Alfano added: “The Italian Cooperation service has arranged for an emergency financing of 200,000 euros and 250,000 euros respectively to the Federation of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) for relief operations to be given to the populations affected.”
“Italy is close to all the families of the victims and the people injured in the recent events,” he concluded.
