Angelino Alfano: “I express satisfaction for the return of the checkpoints into the Gaza Strip under the full control of the Palestinian Authority today. It is the first tangible expression of the reinstatement of the government of the Palestinian National Authority led by President Abbas in the Gaza strip and a significant step towards the hoped-for resumption of negotiations between Israel
and Palestine.
Italy – the Foreign Minister added – supports the return of the Palestinian National Authority to the Gaza Strip in its full governing capacity, including in the field of security.”
