Italian National Mauro Donato

The Director General of Italians Abroad and Migration Policies, Luigi Maria Vignali, received Serbian Ambassador Goran Aleksic at the Farnesina today. The discussion focused on the Italian national Mauro Donato, who is currently being held in Serbia. The Director General reiterated his hope that the on-going investigations will be finalised as soon as possible, in order for Mr. Donato to be released soon. Today’s meeting followed the previously frequent contacts with Serbian Authorities, both in Rome and the Embassy of Italy in Belgrade, through which daily consular visits are being paid to our compatriot.
