At the Ministry of Economic Development, the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefano, headed a delegation from MAECI participating in the first meeting of the Task Force on costs and benefits of multilateral and bilateral free trade agreements involving Italy, the EU, and Third countries. MP Di Stefano was accompanied, among others, by the Director General for the European Union and the Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation.
“I was particularly satisfied with the establishment of this Task Force by the Undersecretary for Economic Development responsible for Foreign Trade, Michele Geraci. Also, the fact that its format entails not only the participation of representatives of the institutions, but also that of technicians from the European Commission and major representatives of associations of the Italian productive system, as well as scholars,” said Di Stefano at the end of the meeting. “The work we will carry out together not only will allow us to assess and evaluate macroeconomic issues, but will also focus on the impact on the territory in terms of employment and environment.”
