Italian Cooperation service makes an emergency contribution for East Ukraine

Upon the initiative of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re, the Italian Cooperation service has allocated an emergency contribution of 300,000 euros to the World Health Organization (WHO), which is engaged in providing healthcare services to the population living in East Ukraine, which is affected by the serious consequences of the conflict in the Donbass region. Thanks to these funds, the WHO will be able to implement a prevention and monitoring system of the infectious diseases transmissible on both sides of the “line of contact” of the conflict and boost the local authorities’ capacity to implement a polio, diphtheria and measles immunisation campaign.
