Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Guglielmo Picchi, received Hungary’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Commerce, Levente Magyar at the Ministry today. The talks, which contribute to further strengthening a bilateral dialogue and the intensification of political meetings in both Rome and Budapest, offered an opportunity to exchange of views on the most important international issues of the day including the situation in Libya and the upcoming European Parliament elections. The issue of energy supply routes in Europe was also discussed in detail. As regards bilateral relations, Undersecretary Picchi and Deputy Minister Magyar agreed that economic cooperation though quite good already still has room to grow further, especially in fields such as infrastructure, logistics, defence and aerospace. Under Secretary Picchi expressed to Hungary’s Deputy Minister Magyar the interest that several Italian companies have in exploring the opportunities Hungary has to offer in these and other sectors.
