The Italian Cooperation service donates medical relief supplies to Albania

Following the earthquake that recently struck the territory of Albania, the Foreign Ministry, in conjunction with the Civil Protection Department, coordinated the shipment of humanitarian supplies dispatched to Albania by the Italian Cooperation service as part of an emergency response mechanism activated by the European Union.

Italy’s donation comprises more than 13 tons of relief supplies (tents, blankets, generators, hygiene kits) and medical material (trauma kits and medicines).

The shipment was dispatched from the UN Humanitarian Response Depot in Brindisi and arrived today in Tirana and is destined to support the assistance activities provided to the population by the Albanian Civil Emergency Department and the World Health Organization (WHO) in association with the Albanian Ministry of Health.
