Mission to Japan by Undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto to promote Brand Italy

On his first trip to Asia, the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Ivan Scalfarotto, is in Osaka on a business mission led by Confindustria and ICE and organised under the aegis of the Foreign Ministry and of the Ministry of Economic Development. The delegation includes 54 SMEs that operate in the fashion and agribusiness sector.

“The aim”, recalled the Undersecretary, “is to promote Made in Italy products in what, in 2018, was the second-largest market for our exports in Asia with double-digit growth rates”. The Undersecretary went on to underscore that “thanks to the EU-Japan Partnership Agreement, the first 9 months of 2019 recorded a significant rise in Italian exports in the agri-food (+ 78%) and fashion (+ 10%) sectors with a positive fallout on the trade flows between Italy and Japan.”

At the end of the visit, Scalfarotto attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new antenna of the ICE Agency in Osaka.
