The Italian Cooperation service dispatches humanitarian relief supplies to Djibouti

To tackle the emergency produced by the exceptional torrential rains that have hit Djibouti, within the framework of the civil protection mechanism activated by the European Union, the Foreign Ministry has arranged to dispatch a humanitarian flight of the Italian Cooperation service carrying more than 10 tons of emergency relief supplies (tents, hygiene kits, blankets and mattresses) and medical and sanitary material. The airborne shipment departed from the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot in Brindisi and arrived at Djibouti Airport today and is destined to support the assistance given to the population affected by the Civil Protection of Djibouti in conjunction with the United Nations Agencies operating on the ground.
