Italy welcomes the note with which the National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced today the removal of the state of force majeure in all the oil terminals, whose blockade has caused considerable damage to Libya’s finances and aggravated the humanitarian conditions of the Libyan people.
The announcement is an important first step in the direction of a complete resumption of oil production throughout the country, an essential condition for Libya to continue on the path of stabilisation and pacification outlined by the Berlin Process under the auspices of the United Nations.
Italy will continue to support Libya’s efforts and the UNSMIL mission towards the objective of a fair and transparent distribution of the country’s resources, for the exclusive benefit and in the interest of the Libyan people.
