Libya: Vice Minister Del Re talks to the ICRC President

Vice Minister Emanuela Del Re had a telephone conversation with Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross. The conversation allowed to take stock of the situation in the various crisis theatres and particularly in Libya, where Maurer recently made a visit that allowed, among other things, to verify the complex humanitarian situation, exacerbated by the impact of COVID-19 on the living conditions of the population, already prostrated by the long conflict. The Vice Minister expressed awareness of how the pandemic has further aggravated the already difficult humanitarian situation of the country and Italy is evaluating possible specific aid, in addition to those already available to all areas of the country.
