Italy-UAE: talks between Vice Minister Sereni and the Minister for Cooperation Al Hashimi

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marina Sereni, held talks today by video conference, with the Minister of State for International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Reem Al Hashimi. The talks centred, in particular, on the current crisis in the Tigray region of Ethiopia. Ms. Sereni and Ms. Al Hashimi both emphasised the need for their respective Governments and the International Community to step up efforts to implement, as swiftly as possible, a process of de-escalation of the conflict and to launch a dialogue between the parties. Equally important is the opening of humanitarian corridors under the aegis of the UN and provide assistance to the displaced persons.
