Opening of the work of the Advisory Committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum

“Italy warmly welcomes the start of the work of the Advisory Committee of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum that began yesterday in Geneva under UN auspices. The work is a crucial step in the current delicate phase of Libya’s political process because of the holding of elections in December this year, as decided by the Dialogue Forum at its meeting in Tunis last November.  Italy confirms its full support to the intra-Libyan dialogue processes in the political, military, and economic spheres and the United Nations Mission’s action in Libya. Italy hopes that the Dialogue forum members can seize this crucial opportunity to achieve further progress on the path towards a lasting stabilisation of the country”.
