On Wednesday, 7 July, from 11:00, the opening event of the 5th Italian Design Day in the World will take place, called “Project and Matter: new challenges for sustainably relaunching the Made in Italy brand”, with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Manlio Di Stefano, and the Deputy Minister for Culture, Lucia Borgonzoni. The Director General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, Ambassador Lorenzo Angeloni, the President of FederlegnoArredo, Claudio Feltrin, the President of ADI, Luciano Galimberti, and the President of Triennale Milano and curator of the “Supersalone 2021”, Stefano Boeri, will also speak at the event.
The event will be held only in virtual format and live streamed on the Foreign Ministry’s YouTube channel.
The theme of the 2021 edition – “Project and Matter: new challenges for sustainably relaunching the Made in Italy brand” – aims to reflect on the ability of Italian design to develop new scenarios for reviving our country’s economy according to an innovative and sustainable approach.
The Italian Design Day has established itself, over the years, as an effective tool for promoting design and the internationalisation of a strategic business sector for our exports, and features a programme full of promotional events organised by our network of Embassies, Consulates, Italian Cultural Institutes and ICE Offices around the world, held in a hybrid format for the second year running due to – and despite – the limitations required by the pandemic.
