Undersecretary Di Stefano gave the closing speech of the eighteenth edition of the annual Forum of the Leonardo Committee in Rome, which discussed the issue “Tech in Italy: innovation, competitiveness, growth”.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation” – the Undersecretary assured – “is working with special commitment to promote scientific research and innovation, with the awareness that investments in research and development are the engine for consolidating economic positions and for expanding to other fields”. This is the purpose of the reform that has transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the strategies for commercial and promotional policies with foreign countries and for the development of the internationalization of our Country.

The ultimate objective, according to the Undersecretary, is the creation of a unique and integrated governance model for the management of trade policy, for the promotion of Italian products and for internationalization, further strengthening “economic diplomacy and innovation as an essential component of foreign policy”. In this way the national interest will be better served while meeting the needs and demands of the entrepreneurial world which wants to interact with a single interlocutor who can accompany businesses on the path towards internationalization.

“The Farnesina” – he concluded – “is available to companies, in a systemic approach where the State stands side by side with the companies that want to innovate and internationalize, an approach that will allow us to obtain important results”.
