On the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Rome, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, met the Secretary for Foreign Relations of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubòn. This meeting follows the bilateral meeting, which was held last June in Bari-Matera, on the sidelines of the Foreign-Cooperation Ministerial G20 meeting.
First of all, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the Strategic Partnership with Mexico, established in 2012, around which our excellent bilateral relations are developing.
Furthermore, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation
pointed out that Mexico is Italy’s second partner in the Latin American region in terms of trade levels, hoping for a further strengthening of economic relations, also through an increase in the volume of investment in the two countries.
Finally, the two Ministers agreed to organise the sixth session of the Binational Commission in Mexico City, in 2022, with the aim of deepening bilateral relations on the political, economic, cultural and security levels.
