Deputy Minister Di Stefano opens new round of Sectoral Tables with Manufacturing Associations

Deputy Minister Manlio Di Stefano opened the new round of Sectoral Tables with productive associations in the virtual format today.

“To face the challenges related to internationalisation, never before have we needed so much direct interaction between the State and the private sector as in this era,” said the Deputy Minister at the opening.

The Tables were created as a moment of dialogue and confrontation with the representatives of the leading trade associations. They were activated for the first time in April 2020 to meet the challenges imposed by the economic crisis following the pandemic emergency. From those first sectoral Tables came the Pact for Export, signed in June 2020 by Minister Di Maio with representatives of the institutions and associations of the production world.

“We have a year and a half of pandemic behind us, a year of application of the Pact for Export and a good 5.4 billion allocated and used for our companies. And the 2021 export figures, which are even better than in 2019, show us that the path of public-private dialogue is the right one,” concluded the Deputy Minister.

Today, the Transversal Associations Table and the Innovation and Space Table were held. Over the next two weeks, the following tables are scheduled: the Agro-Foods Table, the Health Table, the Housing System Table, the Start-Up Table, the Transversal Technologies Table, the Infrastructure and Logistics Table, the Supply Chain Technologies Table, the Cultural Industry Table, the Training for Company Managers for Export Table, the Trade Fair System Table, and the Fashion System/Personnel Table.

The purpose of these tables – as well as to discuss export issues with the production world – is to collect ideas and proposals in view of the Steering Committee for Internationalisation and the International Trade Agency’s promotional programme for 2022-23.
