Minister Di Maio had telephone conversation with Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, had a telephone conversation today with Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba.

While reasserting the firm condemnation of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, the Minister confirmed Italy’s commitment in implementing sanctions – agreed upon with partners and allies – to induce the Russian government to immediately cease hostilities and to provide financial support and humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people, in view of the constant worsening of the humanitarian situation in the country. “Our goal”, Mr Di Maio said, “is to pursue all efforts aimed at achieving a diplomatic, shared and sustainable solution for peace in Ukraine”. To this end, Minister Di Maio assured Italy’s availability and proactive contribution to support the ongoing talks between Kyiv and Moscow and achieve a diplomatic solution of the crisis.
