Today, the Task Force on Child Custody Disputes, chaired by the Directorate-General for Italians Abroad, held its second meeting of 2022, attended by Interior Ministry and Justice Ministry officials too.
The Task Force examined the most critical international child abduction and custody dispute cases, with a particular focus on Ukraine and its complicated context, compounded by the ongoing war. In this regard, the meeting discussed cases of abducted children in that country, where synergistic actions have been defined and strengthened between the Administration offices involved, so as to find solutions to the cases in point.
During the first four months of 2022, the Farnesina has recorded 40 new child custody dispute cases, 25 of which in Europe, 11 in America, 2 in Asia, 1 in the Mediterranean and Middle East region and 1 in Sub-Saharan Africa.
