Italy acknowledges the Russian Federation’s decision to expel 24 members of the Italian diplomatic and consular missions and of the Italian Trade Agency Office in the Russian Federation.
The staff affected by the decision has always performed its duties fully complying with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.
While reiterating its firm condemnation of the Russian Federation’s aggression against Ukraine, Italy also strongly calls for an immediate ceasefire that can put an end to the suffering of the civilian population and ensure the start of concrete negotiations aimed at a political and sustainable solution to the conflict.
