Somalia: a humanitarian flight of the Italian Cooperation Service to meet the Country’s growing humanitarian needs

Today, 11 December, a humanitarian flight of the Italian Cooperation Service departed from the Brindisi-based United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) and landed in Mogadishu with a cargo of approximately 8 tons of surgical and trauma kits. The goods were delivered to the Somalian Ministry of Health to support the response of the Country’s Authorities to the recent worsening of the humanitarian situation due to the repercussions of the persisting climate crisis and new episodes of violence, not the last of which was the terrorist attack of last 29 October.
