Italy condemns in the strongest terms the launch by North Korea of a long-range ballistic missile on 13 April. This new missile launch is a further blatant violation of the relevant UN Security Council’s Resolutions and a threat to international peace and security, as well as undermining the global non-proliferation regime.
Italy again urges North Korea to terminate its WMD and ballistic missile development programme in a complete, verifiable and irreversible manner, ensuring full compliance with the relevant UN Security Council’s Resolutions.
Italy remains firmly committed to collaborating with all partners and allies to achieve the goal of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and to preserve the rules-based international order.
