The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, will travel to Berlin tomorrow, Monday 11 September, to take part in the meeting of world religions “The Audacity of Peace” organised by the Community of Sant’Egidio, which will be attended by Heads of State, religious leaders and civil society representatives from all over the world.
At the event, which will be divided into a series of thematic sessions and will pay particular attention to the consequences of the war in Ukraine, Hon. Tajani will speak as guest of honour in the panel “Interreligious Dialogue: an Asset for Global Peace”.
At the Deputy Prime Minister’s initiative, Italy has relaunched its commitment to promoting interreligious dialogue as an integral and qualifying part of its foreign policy action in various spheres, and particularly in the protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Hon. Tajani said: “All of us – political, civil and religious actors – have a common responsibility to promote peace, mutual understanding and the common good” and he assured that “Italy is at the forefront in protecting places of worship, which are today exposed to severe threats in different parts of the world, and in countering hatred and violence based on religious grounds”.
