The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, is in Luxembourg to participate in the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union.

The Council, chaired by the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, has as its first item on the agenda the situation in Israel and in the region, to which the extraordinary meeting of 10 October was already devoted.

In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister will illustrate what has emerged from his recent missions in the Middle East and the Mediterranean region and from the constant contacts he has had with the main regional players.

The 27 Foreign Ministers will also discuss the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the latest developments concerning Armenia and Azerbaijan. They will then exchange views on the situation in Serbia and Kosovo and the situation in the Sahel region. High Representative Borrell is finally expected to brief the Council on the outcome of his recent trip to China.
