The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, spoke – on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani – at the Italy-Uzbekistan Business Forum, which was attended by Bakthiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and by important representatives of the Italian private sector.
Undersecretary Tripodi said: “This day marks another important step for Italy-Uzbekistan bilateral relations and is to be seen in the framework of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership Relations adopted in 2023”. She highlighted the key role played by business in strengthening relations between the two countries, with an increase in the volume of mutual trade and growing export opportunities from Uzbekistan to the European Union.
The meeting was attended, among others, by representatives from SACE, the Italy-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce, CNA Moda, large business groups such as Todini and Leonardo spa, Intesa San Paolo, and Italian universities such as the Polytechnic of Turin and the University of Pisa. During the meeting, investment opportunities in various sectors were explored, ranging from pharmaceuticals to textiles, leather, energy, infrastructure and transport, the production of building materials and the agri-food chain.
