Delegated by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Maria Tripodi took part in the “Fincantieri Industrial Conference – Where the Vision Meets Maritime Excellence” held in Riyadh today.
During her speech, the Undersecretary highlighted how “Italy is paying close attention to the Saudi economic development programme “Vision 2030”, within which Italian companies of excellence, such as Fincantieri, can play a leading role. Saudi Arabia, continued Tripodi, “is a major economic and commercial partner for Italy. The presence of Italian businesses in the country is already very solid and established. We aspire to do even more”. The conference also examined possible synergies between Italy and Saudi Arabia in the maritime sector, particularly as regards Saudi Vision 2030, a flagship programme aimed at the energy and industrial conversion of the Saudi economy.
On the sidelines of the Conference, Undersecretary Tripodi had a fruitful conversation with the Saudi Deputy Minister for Industrial Affairs, Khalil Ibrahim Ibn Salam, which revolved around bilateral economic, trade, and industrial cooperation.
