The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, is on a mission to Luxembourg to attend the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union.
The meeting, which will be chaired by High Representative Josep Borrell, will open with a working session devoted to the Russian aggression against Ukraine, to which the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, will also be invited. It will also be an opportunity to take stock of the outcome of last week’s Lucerne Summit, which was attended by the Prime Minister and by Minister Tajani. In this regard, Italy will continue to provide full support to Ukraine, also in its capacity as G7 Presidency.
This will be followed by an exchange of views among the 27 Ministers on the situation in the Middle East. On this point, the Vice President said: “I will reaffirm Italy’s unwavering support for the three-stage agreement submitted by President Biden, and the commitment with which the government is continuing to work to avoid a regionalisation of the conflict: we are very concerned about the most recent developments on the Lebanese front”.
