Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani is in Belgrade today on a mission to attend the Italy-Serbia Business Forum. As part of the visit, institutional meetings are scheduled with the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marko Đurić.
The Business Forum is part of Italy’s growth diplomacy strategy and brings together over 400 Italian and Serbian companies, highlighting the growing interest in strengthening ties between the Italian and Serbian markets, fostering closer business communities, and generating new investment opportunities.
During the institutional meetings, Minister Tajani will also address the issue of completing the “path to reunifying the Balkans with Europe,” a strategic priority not only for Italy but also for the European Union. To support the acceleration of the region’s European integration process, Minister Tajani will chair a meeting in Rome on 10 February with the Foreign Ministers of the Western Balkans, the group of ‘friendly’ countries, along with High Representative Kallas and European Commissioner for Enlargement Kos.
This marks Tajani’s third mission to Serbia, following visits in November 2022, shortly after taking office, and November 2023. It reaffirms the Italian Government’s strong commitment to the Balkans, a key region for the stability of the entire European continent.
