In Brussels, Minister Antonio Tajani met with the European Commissioner for Trade, Maroš Šefčovič, to discuss the recent decisions made by the United States Administration regarding trade matters.
During the meeting, both parties agreed on the need to maintain a firm but dialogue-based approach, aimed at preventing further escalation on the trade front.
The Minister reiterated Italy’s support for finalising new trade agreements with third countries to diversify our exports, including with MERCOSUR, India – where Tajani will travel in a few days – and other key emerging economies in the Indo-Pacific, Africa, and the Gulf.
Minister Tajani then presented the Action Plan for Italian Exports, recently launched at Villa Madama, to Commissioner Šefčovič, in order to strengthen the presence of Italian businesses in all growing markets.
