Solidarity initiatives continue at the Farnesina. Following the success of the recent collection of food, clothing, and other essential items for people in need, this evening, for the first time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ canteen welcomed a group of individuals facing hardship.
On the occasion of the launch of the solidarity canteen, an initiative requested by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, a commemorative plaque was also unveiled in honour of Sister Paola D’Auria. The plaque pays tribute to the recently deceased nun’s profound legacy of genuine charity and her tireless dedication to supporting those in need.
The initiative, which will now take place on a monthly basis, has been made possible thanks to the generous contribution of Ladisa, the company that manages the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s canteen, in collaboration with the association “SoSpe – Solidarity and Hope”, founded by Sister Paola, Caritas of Rome, the parishes of the XIII Prefecture – northern sector of the Diocese of Rome, and the chaplain of Regina Coeli prison, Father Vittorio Trani. The success of the event was also supported by several benefactors and volunteers, including representatives of the Association of Spouses of Employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
