The Italian Government offers to receive Adam, son of Dr Alaa al-Najjar, from Gaza

The Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, is closely following the case of Dr Alaa al-Najjar’s family, who were struck in recent days by an Israeli military attack that killed nine of her ten children and severely injured her husband. The tenth child, Adam, survived but is in critical condition and currently hospitalised at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, one of the few medical facilities still operating in Gaza.

The Italian Government has expressed its willingness to transfer the seriously injured boy to Italy for treatment. At Minister Tajani’s instruction, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently assessing the feasibility of the operation. Italy stands ready to cooperate with all potentially involved institutions, while fully considering and respecting the wishes of Dr Alaa al-Najjar and her family.
