Following yesterday’s vote in Geneva on the health conditions in the Palestinian Territories, the World Health Assembly today voted on the second resolution presented by the Palestinian Delegation during the sessions in Geneva.
The resolution addresses the humanitarian situation and the healthcare system now on the brink of collapse in Gaza, calling for the adoption of an urgent, permanent ceasefire, unrestricted access for aid, the protection of healthcare facilities, and international funding for reconstruction and healthcare response.
The resolution was approved with 114 votes in favour, 2 against, and 15 abstentions. As with yesterday’s vote, the Permanent Mission of Italy in Geneva also voted in favour today.
