Undersecretary Silli in Ecuador for the inauguration of President Noboa

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Giorgio Silli, participated in Quito in the official inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa. The mission took place in a climate of great cordiality and confirmed the excellent state of relations between Italy and Ecuador, in the framework of the relaunch of relations between Italy and Latin America.

The Undersecretary said: “On behalf of the Italian Government, I would like to express my best wishes to President Noboa for his Presidency. My presence here bears witness to the attention with which Italy looks to this region and the special value of the relationship with Ecuador, with which we are celebrating 125 years of diplomatic relations this year.” He also recalled that the new Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Summit would take place in Rome on October 7 with the Foreign Ministers of the entire continent, a strategic opportunity for growth diplomacy.

On the sidelines of the event, the Undersecretary met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, Alejandro Davalos, and the Deputy Minister for International Cooperation, Alfonso Abdo, to discuss some issues of common interest on the relaunch of economic and commercial exchanges and cooperation activities.
