Around 800 Italian companies that are either already operating in India or have interests in the country will participate in the Business Forum, which begins this evening with a dinner in Brescia. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, has invited the Indian Minister of Commerce, Piyush Goyal, along with the entire Indian delegation. Among the main participants are: Gruppo SOL, MAPEI, Kerakoll Group, Eurostampa, Bonfiglioli, Marposs (all of which are spearheading new investments), ENI, SAIPEM, MAIRE, DANIELI, MERMEC, Italferr (part of the FSI group), Piaggio, Leonardo, Fincantieri, Elettronica, Beretta, Maschio Gaspardo, Carraro, Brembo, Zegna, Poltrona Frau, iGuzzini, and Generali.
Around 40 companies from the Brescia district have subsidiaries in India.
Among the Indian companies operating in Italy are: Titagarh Industries, TCS, Mahindra, Ranbaxy, Bombay Rayon, Zydus Cadila, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Aurobindo Pharma Italia, Himatsingka Seide, Varroc Group, Endurance Technologies, Gammon, ABG Group, Aditya Birla, Raymond Zambaiti, and Sun Pharma.
Some key announcements made in Delhi include: EUR 470 million in new Italian investments in India since the start of the year; the opening of a Simest office with a dedicated EUR 500 million funding line; an additional EUR 200 million “push strategy” by SACE; a new space attaché at the Embassy; and plans for the future opening of an innovation and start-up centre.
