A plane operated by the Italian Cooperation and carrying humanitarian relief supplies for the civilian population of Myanmar landed this morning in Yangon.
The shipment, arranged by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the request of Deputy Minister Edmondo Cirielli, who is responsible for Development Cooperation, was received today by staff from the Embassy of Italy.
The cargo, intended for the International Organization for Migration as part of the emergency response to the devastating earthquake that struck the country in March, includes essential relief items such as field tents, tarpaulins, water purifiers, and emergency kits. These supplies will help provide shelter and basic assistance to thousands of individuals in particularly vulnerable conditions.
