Tajani in Bern today

Mission Bern
Mission Bern

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani is in Bern, Switzerland, today for an official visit. This morning, he will meet with Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis and take part as guest of honour in the Swiss Ambassadors’ Conference.

Key items on the agenda include the excellent state of bilateral relations and an exchange of views on major foreign policy issues where the two countries share strong alignment — from the crisis in the Middle East to the war in Ukraine. The discussions will focus in particular on economic and cultural ties, including the presentation of the Business Guide to Switzerland, prepared by the Italian Embassy in Bern to encourage Italian companies to expand their presence in the Swiss market. Minister Tajani will also extend an invitation to Federal Councillor Cassis to attend the first Conference of Italophony, scheduled to take place in Rome on 19 November.

At the Kursaal Bern, the two Ministers will take part in a public conversation on bilateral and international topics at 11:35, moderated by journalist and author Philippe Mottaz. This will be followed at 12:00 by a joint press point with members of the media.
