Export Italy: Tajani meets Italian Trade Agency, SACE and SIMEST leadership on new “business forums” and Italian Foreign Ministry Reform

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, met today with the leadership of ITA, SIMEST and SACE to review Italian exports and the Italian Foreign Ministry reform, which envisages the establishment of the “Directorate-General for Growth”.

“Exports account for 40% of GDP and play a key role for our country. The internationalisation of our productive fabric is a priority and a cornerstone of growth diplomacy,” Minister Tajani opened the operational meeting with the CEOs of SIMEST and SACE, Regina Corradini D’Arienzo and Michele Pignotti, and the President of the Italian Trade Agency, Matteo Zoppas.

During the meeting, Minister Tajani emphasised that the strategic priority of the new “Directorate-General for Growth” will be to support Italian excellence abroad and to promote the attraction of investments into Italy. A new “Export Operations Room” will also be established, becoming a central point for managing all matters related to the growth and internationalisation of businesses.

Within the framework of the Export Plan, new initiatives were confirmed today, including the Italy-China Intergovernmental Committee (8 October), Business Forums with Senegal (29 October), Albania (13 November), Saudi Arabia (25 November), India and Montenegro (December).

The Minister also announced the date of the third edition of the National Export Conference, which will be held on 17 December in Milan as part of the States General of Diplomacy. The event will offer an opportunity for a comprehensive exchange with the business and association world, in a format that will see the participation of all Ambassadors of the network, together with the Directors of ITA, CDP, SACE and SIMEST.
