Earthquake in Afghanistan. Minister Tajani allocated new emergency aid

Following the earthquake in Afghanistan that caused hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, has decided to allocate new funds to provide humanitarian assistance to the population as part of a 13 million aid package that was already in preparation.

The Minister said: “ I wish to express my deepest condolences for the victims and the Italian government’s sympathy for the families affected by the earthquake in Afghanistan. We are in contact with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to provide immediate aid to those in extreme difficulty. Italy is ready to do its part to assist the Afghan people affected by this terrible tragedy.”
