Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani chaired the tenth meeting of the Tariff Task Force at the Foreign Ministry, established in July 2025 to assist Italian companies in the current complex phase of transatlantic trade.
The Minister shared with participants the outcomes of the Washington Ministerial Meeting on critical minerals and the related initiative by Italy and Germany to protect the competitiveness of European exporting companies and the stability of strategic supply chains, a topic also discussed in the recent meeting between Minister Tajani and EU Trade Commissioner Sefcovic. Minister Tajani also focused on transatlantic trade relations and the EU’s key trade agreements, such as those with Mercosur and India, highlighting the opportunities these agreements will offer Italian companies.
Over 70 associations and companies, along with representatives of the Italian system, participated in the meeting, thus reaffirming the Task Force’s appreciation and usefulness as a platform for collaboration and ongoing dialogue with the Foreign Ministry. This is part of the growth diplomacy effort that the recent reform has placed at the heart of the activities carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
