Tour in Bolivia del Maestro Chiantore

On the occasion of Maestro Luca Chiantore’s tour in Bolivia, the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Embassy in La Paz, in collaboration with the Plurinational Conservatory of Music and the German Cultural Centre, organised a concert by the renowned Italian pianist in the “Tiwanaku” Honor Hall of the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Maestro Chiantore is considered an authority in the study of piano history and the theory of musical interpretation, and his publications are well-known throughout Latin America. A professor of musicology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, he has delivered lectures, courses, and masterclasses in over 150 universities and institutions across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. As a pianist, he has performed in New York, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, São Paulo, and many other locations.

In La Paz, he performed classical music pieces by various 19th-century composers, including Johannes Brahms, Fanny Mendelssohn-Hensel, and Clara Wieck, interspersed with several musical improvisations, accompanied by spoken texts recited by Maestro Chiantore himself, in a melologue style that the audience appreciated for its originality.

The concert was also an opportunity to commemorate the 160th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Bolivia, which were celebrated last May, as noted by Ambassador Fabio Messineo. He expressed gratitude for the presence of Bolivian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Celinda Sosa, along with other Bolivian officials who attended the event in large numbers.
