The fourth edition of “Forever is Now” (24 October-16 November 2024), a contemporary art exhibition organised in Egypt under the patronage of UNESCO, will present the works of 12 renowned international artists, each bringing a unique vision to a collective dialogue that transcends the barriers of time and cultures.
The theme of the exhibition offers a parallel between artists and visitors, seen as modern archaeologists who, through creativity, reveal hidden meanings in the ordinary. The use of unconventional materials reinforces this vision, demonstrating how art requires a keen eye for the unexpected and the courage to enhance what seems mundane.
Two Italian artists are participating in the exclusive exhibition on the Giza Plateau: Luca Boffi and Federica Di Carlo.
Luca Boffi will present the installation “Monochrome RGB”: his practice is based on the scientific study of the grid as an optical device to measure, organise and reinvent the surrounding space.
Federica Di Carlo, the only Italian woman selected, is exhibiting her installation “I See, I See”, inspired by the Egyptian myth according to which humanity originated from the tears falling from the eye of the Sun-God. Di Carlo’s installation, which will be inaugurated on 24 October, stands like a large observatory on the Giza plateau. Using the laws of physics and light, it offers viewers new perspectives on the world.
Federica Di Carlo’s work “I See, I See” was realised with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, Silo Management, and the Motta Collection.
