On the occasion of the celebration marking the tenth anniversary of the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, three representations of Italian youth Orchestras – Young Musicians European Orchestra of Ravenna, Orchestra Senza Spine of Bologna, and Orchestra Giovanile Scarlatti of Naples – performed on 17 November in a concert along with Ho Chi Minh City’s Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO), titled Una Notte di Musica Italiana (“A night of Italian Music”), conducted by Maestro Matteo Parmeggiani.

The concert marked an important opportunity for cultural exchange between Italy and Vietnam, enriching the two countries’ musical landscape and creating an atmosphere of synergy and sharing. The three Italian youth orchestras brought onto the stage works of Italian classical music by Antonio Vivaldi, Giuseppe Verdi, Gioachino Rossini, and Giacomo Puccini. The collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City’s Ballet and Symphony Orchestra (HBSO) enabled not only a musical but also a cultural exchange, fostering dialogue among the various musical traditions.

The concert brought an end to a week rich with activities, including the Master Classes held by Paolo Olmi both at the Music Conservatory of Ho Chi Minh City and at Vietnam National University – University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU-USSH), Department of Linguistics and Italian Literature. This was the second edition for this initiative that met with great success two years ago.
